The US Open New Orleans Warhammer 40k Winning Lists event has been a long time coming. After the success of the first edition, which saw over 100 players compete for a prize pool worth more than $6,000, the second edition is set to take place on September 29th at the New Orleans Convention Center.

The US Open New Orleans Warhammer 40k Tournament held three days of gaming and entertainment in downtown NOLA last weekend. Games Workshop hosted their second Open of the year, attracting 167 people who came out to buy games and, of course, compete for the best list.
Richard Siegler won the US Open New Orleans Warhammer 40k competition for the second time with a repeat performance! Despite the fact that the US Open Orlando had a larger crowd, only one player may go unbeaten after eight games. His to-do list had been updated. The transition from Forgeworld Metallica to Mars was particularly notable. Brad Chester and Mark Perry with Drukhari and Orks, respectively, were another frequent sight at the top.

Brushray assault by a Skitarii team
Richard was assigned to a Veteran Cohort in order to benefit from the Skitarii Supplement. The unit will gain 1 power level thanks to the 19 Rangers. This is important while using Bionic Endurance to offer the squad a 5++ disregard wounds for just 2 CP instead of 3. The army is divided into two Patrol detachments, allowing for the capture of four aircraft. With the additional robustness of the Chaff Launchers, the Stratoraptors with Mars are extremely dependable and effective shooters. Defense and offense will be modified as required by Doctrinas and Canticles.
This army is surprisingly quick and may assist a unit corner an opponent. Terrain does not slow the Ruststalkers, and as a seasoned Cohort, they will be able to Advance and Charge. One of the Warlord characteristics is Eyes of the Omnisiah, which allows you to re-roll your advancements. Of course, the Infiltrators may enter No Man’s Land and offer a swarm of troops to keep your opponent trapped in their deployment zone.
The Fusilave’s Command Uplink will be useful in allowing troops without a Data Tether to benefit from different Warlord characteristics. In addition, you may block troops from benefitting from auras.

ArhPriest’s emissaries to the Aeldari, Drukhari, and Exodites
Drukharii, with their swift flying troops that can reach anywhere, continue to pose a threat to the Meta. Brad used Raiding Forces to reclaim all of his Command Points, allowing him to purchase additional relics and Warlord characteristics. What may perplex people is how Brad enlisted the wracks as soldiers.
For access to the supplement bonuses, there is a dedicated Cult of Strife patrol. With the Incubi, Wyches, and Succubuses, this is clearly a deadly list, but it’s also tough with those wracks and the Court of the Archon.

With the Speed Waaagh, the Orks once again show that they are a force to be reckoned with. The Outrider detachment is a logical option for detachments since it requires so many rapid assault units. Unlike Mani Cheema and his Speed Waaagh, Mark used the Patrol detachment’s CP refund as well as the Freebooterz +1 to hit.
The Wazbom Blastajet is armed with 3+D3 damage, which is extremely dependable. With the Shokk Jump Dragstas and the Scrapjets’ devastating melee punch, this isn’t the only hard-shooting unit. The glowing Squigbuggy continues to entice gamers to add them to their list. Mark, on the other hand, didn’t go overboard, since he made space for Kommandos and Burna Boyz. The Burna Boyz are intriguing since they auto-hit and can assist in clearing chaff in order to activate Freebooterz Clan Kulture.
